I am a versatile professional artist with 13 years experience with graphic design and 20 years experience with fine art in both design and illustration. My time with well established companies such as Nike and VF Corporation, while also helping small startup companies grow, have given me the ability to know what is really enticing on the digital and tangible side of a business.

My Story

I'll start with my history of art and work my way up. I started creating art at a very young age and distinctly remember drawing a sail boat on water with a stick figure person inside. This was for an assignment in Kindergarden. My teachers and parents loved the drawing and thought it was talented for my age and I remember looking at it thinking "That? I could do so much better." This was the moment I knew I was an artist. This was also the beginning stage of my drive to always push myself to do the best I can at any project and always knowing I can forever challenge myself to do better.

I didn't know what my actual niche was so I started to paint dog portraits for family and friends. I made commission on this artwork for years while trying to figure out my career. Naturally, I went to school for Graphic Design and landed a job at Nike as an Image artist. Meanwhile, in the back of my mind, I was always trying to find new ways to enhance my hand drawn pieces of art and digital skills. I made a promise to always challenge myself to create something new on a daily basis. This was when I created my Instagram account @kelsey.askew. Ever since, I have been continually developing my brand and building lasting client relationships.

I am loving the process every step of the way and I have never felt so fulfilled following my dreams and expressing myself artistically every day. So, that is my ever growing story and I can't wait to show my next project...
